Stone Mountain became a State Park in 1969 and was made a National Natural Landmark in 1975. Stone Mountain is composed of 16,000 acres. With more than 18 miles of hiking trails, 10 miles of equestrian trails, over 20 miles of designated trout streams, 90 campsites, 4 backcountry campsites, 3 picnic shelters, 75 picnic sites, rock climbing, and the Hutchinson Homestead, this State Park has a lot to offer. An abundance of wildlife can be seen while visiting the park as well.
