The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences is located in downtown Rocky Mount at the historic Imperial Tobacco Company Warehouse, which was renovated and reopened to the public in 2006. The campus is home to the Children’s Museum & Science Center, the Maria V. Howard Arts Center, and the Imperial Centre Theatre. The landscaped site features a variety of changing sculptural installations. The Imperial Centre is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The Children’s Museum & Science Center hosts three travelling science exhibits each year. Permanent exhibits include the indoor Toddler Park, the PNC Live Animal Gallery, astronomy exhibits, and interactive play areas and science classrooms on the 2nd Floor.
