Located two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean on Ocean Isle Beach, the Museum of Coastal Carolina features exhibits and programs that inspire curiosity about the natural history of the coastal environment. Guests can immerse themselves amongst life-sized models of sea life as it exists 60 miles off the coast. They can dip their hands into the Touch Tank and touch a sea star or horseshoe crab, discover a spiny lobster or balloon fish in our saltwater aquariums, or Save the Ocean in one of our many interactive exhibits. Daily programs invite guest to explore sea turtles, sharks, shorebirds and more. The Museum also hosts "Sandbar Lectures" where local experts speak about our coastal environment and Outer Banks history.

A few miles away in Sunset Beach, the stars always shine at Ingram Planetarium. On weekends music laser shows enthrall and entertain. The Planetarium is located at 7625 High Market Street, Sunset Beach, NC 28468
