The Bald Head Island Conservancy is located between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean in Southeastern North Carolina. It is a leading organization in barrier island conservation, offering a range of recreational and educational activities for the public.

Fleming Environmental Education Center and Media Center are conveniently located on the rightmost end of the front porch of campus, making it easily accessible for visitors. As the public portion of our campus it is open to everyone and we welcome visitors from all over the world.

Visitors can also enjoy the Bald Head Woods trailhead, which is located within walking distance. Bald Head Woods is the second largest intact maritime forest in North Carolina and this scenic trail is a great way to explore the natural beauty of the island and experience the unique and diverse ecosystems that can be found here.
