Umstead State Park: Weed Out Day – Invasive Removal (Multiuse Trailhead)

Join Rangers Nick & Kate on Weed Out Day and remove invasive plants to protect the park’s ecosystem. This event is part of Invasive Species Awareness Week.

Wear protective clothing and closed-toe shoes.  Bring gardening gloves and a water bottle.

Registration is required; this event is limited to 12 participants. Children ages 12 & up are welcome to participate with a parent or other adult.

Directions: Enter the park at 8801 Glenwood Ave. and drive south on Umstead Parkway. After 1 mile, you will pass the visitor center on your right. Keep driving. Follow the signs for the Multiuse Trailhead: turn left on Maintenance Road, right on Group Camp Road, and left on Sycamore Road. Park in the gravel lot at the end of Sycamore Road and meet by the Multiuse Trailhead.
