NC Science Trail & Hanging Rock SP: Nature’s Innovation-Landforms Forged by Time

Nature’s Innovation: Landforms Forged by Time will explore the intersection of geology and biology as we showcase the innovative forces of nature. In the 9,000 acre Piedmont paradise at Hanging Rock State Park, you can witness the resilience of quartzite and its impact on the park’s unique ecological setting. Learn from the park’s seasoned rangers and local rock climbers and geologists who unravel the secrets behind the development of these rock formations and the diverse array of endemic and endangered species that call this park home. Come prepared for a hike or a climb with a geolgist! Bring a refillable water bottle and hiking/climbing shoes. Food trucks and Farmers’ Market will be on site as well. See you there!
