Here at the North Carolina Science Trail, we want to take a special minute to thank all of you who contributed to help raise money for girls coding clubs in rural North Carolina counties. We are continuing to work toward our goal, but your contributions on Giving Tuesday have given us a great start in building more opportunities for girls in tech.
If you haven’t yet given, please consider a contribution using the links below.

This Giving Tuesday (December 2, 2025), the NC Science Trail is on a mission: to raise $12,000 to launch Girls Who Code clubs in ten counties across North Carolina. These clubs will open doors for girls in rural communities—where access to technology and STEM education is limited.

🌟 Join us. Empower girls.
Change the future of Science.
Through our partnership with Girls Who Code, we’re creating safe, exciting spaces in libraries, community centers, and after-school programs for girls in grades 3–12. Clubs empower students to learn coding, explore AI and cybersecurity, and develop real-world tech skills—all while building confidence and a supportive community of peers and mentors.

Support from donors will directly fund:
- Infrastructure: furniture, computers, and technology support (in partnership with E2D: Eliminate the Digital Divide)
- Curriculum and training: expert guidance from Girls Who Code facilitators
- Incidental needs: promotional items, recruitment materials, and snacks

Why Girls Who Code?
Technology is advancing at lightning speed, and economic opportunity depends on being prepared for the jobs of tomorrow. Girls Who Code ensures students don’t just keep up—they get ahead. Clubs are free programs for all skill levels, tailored to 3rd–5th graders and 6th–12th graders, and designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
Clubs go beyond coding—they teach leadership, community building, and confidence through:
- Learn to Code activities with facilitator guides
- Sisterhood activities to strengthen social-emotional growth
- Tech spotlights showcasing role models in STEM

Clubs are flexible—they can stand alone or integrate into robotics clubs, STEM camps, after-school programs, or virtual settings. No matter the setup, Girls Who Code and the NC Science Trail are partnering together to provide everything needed to launch and sustain a girls-first tech program.
Here is how your gift helps:
- $25 provides healthy snacks for a monthly Girls Who Code session
- $50 provides two sturdy tables that serve as home base for a rural coding club in a library or community center
- $100 supports a small stipend for club leader
- $300 provides a Windows 11 laptop for one girl in the program
- $500 purchases chairs, tables, laptop stands and materials for one club
- $1,200 supports the expenses for one coding club for one session – 2 sessions (Fall, Spring)
