I recently spoke with Laurynn Furr from the Sullenberger Aviation Museum in Charlotte. They have great news for members of the museum, and if you’re thinking of becoming a member, you’ll definitely benefit from this perk! Read below for more information on member benefits and all the great things you can find at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum starting this coming weekend, Sunday, January 11, 2026.
If you are not aware of the Sullenberger Aviation Museum, let me enlighten you as to the amazing stories that lie within. This relatively new aviation museum, found on the grounds of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina, officially tells the harrowing story of US Airways Flight 1549, when Captain Sullenberger was forced to land the plane on the wintery Hudson River in New York on January 15, 2009. But this museum holds so much more than even that incredible story. There are aircraft and technologies highlighted in this unique museum that share the story of aviation science and history in our country.

The Sullenberger Aviation Museum presents an incredible technological experience within its walls, but also allows for hands-on, in-cockpit experiences that are set to excite STEM lovers everywhere.
Members to this museum have many great benefits, which you can see on the museum’s “Visit” page, so sign up for your membership today. And starting this Sunday, January 11th, a new program, called Member Sundays, will allow members to enter the museum an hour early from 11am-12pm every 2nd Sunday of the month for Frequent Flyer members. No RSVP needed! Just show up and show your membership card.
Also make sure to check our calendar for upcoming programming at SAM, like their pop-up program on “Ditching Instruction” and their fascinating Passenger Talks by actual US Air flight 1549 passengers from the day the plane landed on the river. There are 4 events in January, and a special, highly coveted “Date Nite at SAM” on Feb 13 that you will want to attend!
They’re waiting for you at SAM!
