Get ready to think outside the box… and then build with it! This spring, Discovery Place Science is turning everyday cardboard into an extraordinary city with Boxopolis: A Creative Cardboard City, popping up April 25 through May 10, 2026.
Inside Boxopolis, imagination runs wild. One day it might be a skyline of cardboard skyscrapers—by the next, it’s a maze, a castle, or something no one’s ever seen before. Visitors of all ages are invited to jump in, grab some materials, and start building alongside fellow creators. Team up with family, make new friends, and watch your ideas take shape in a city that grows and changes every single day.
With simple materials and big ideas, Boxopolis is all about experimenting, problem-solving, and having fun while doing it. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to create. Museum staff will be on hand to help guide the fun and keep the creativity flowing.
