Winter Train Rides Return to the N.C. Transportation Museum Dec. 26–31!

SPENCER, NC — The North Carolina Transportation Museum is pleased to announce the return of its beloved Winter Train Rides from Friday, December 26 through Wednesday, December 31, 2025. This seasonal experience offers visitors of all ages a festive opportunity to celebrate the winter holidays with a scenic 25-minute ride aboard the museum’s historic passenger train, complete with festive seasonal decorations, access to the museum’s extensive exhibits, showcasing railroading, aviation, and automotive history, and unique gift options and souvenirs at the Gift Station on site.

The Winter Train Rides are scheduled throughout the week between Christmas and New Year’s, providing a fun and memorable outing for families during winter break. Rides depart at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. on most days, with additional 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. departures on Sunday, December 28.

Train ride tickets and museum admission are available for purchase online. Members ride for free but are encouraged to reserve tickets in advance using their membership number. Children under 3 ride free. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.nctransportationmuseum.org/winter-train-rides/.
