Huggins Island Tour: Join a ranger on a boat ride to one of our historic island treasures- Huggins Island. Learn about the diverse history that has shaped this maritime island over the years. A great chance to see and explore one of the Atlantic coast’s better reserved earthwork fortifications and how it played a role in the American Civil War. Subject to cancellation due to the weather.
NOTE: the boat stops at the island. There is no dock, but optional island access is done from the bow of boat. Duration: 2 hrs. Seating is limited to 11; registration is required by contacting the park office: 910-326-4881.
