April 20, 2024
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
411 S. Main Street, Kenansville, NC, 28349, US
Join staff from the Cowan Museum of History & Science and NC Museum of Natural Sciences – Whiteville for a nature quest (free of charge to all children and families in North Carolina) as part of ecoEXPLORE.
Learn about how you can become a community scientist and help professional scientists understand changes in the environment and see how these changes impact plants, animals and other natural resources!
– We’ll meet at the museum‘s botanical garden at 11:00 AM.
– Staff will be available to help kids sign up online for the ecoEXPLORE program, but you don’t have to be a member to participate.
– We will also help participants set up an iNaturallist account.
– Please bring a personal device, such as a smartphone or touchpad, to snap pictures of your observations to post on iNaturalist.
– Then, the nature journey will begin!
– Free lemonade and cookies will be served in the general store near the garden.
Note: You may want to wear protective clothing (long pants and/or hat) and apply insect repellant.
April will be Botany Season. Check out the ecoEXPLORE website for more details:
